Stabat Mater sung in Mont-Saint-Michel – AMAZING SOUND

Hello dear Patrons!
First of all, thank you so much for supporting Windborne and our work during this time. It’s a fast changing situation, and is incredibly hard for performing artists. We’ve had to cancel around 30 gigs already, with more cancellations anticipated. Having your ongoing support is a HUGE help right now, and we cant thank you enough.

Because we can’t get together in person, we want to invite you to
join us online for a livestream concert,
THIS SATURDAY MARCH 14, 7:30PM EST
https://www.facebook.com/WindborneSingers/posts/10157167698715547

If you don’t have a Facebook account, don’t worry! You can still watch the livestream without an account!

We also wanted to share with you this incredible experience we had in France. After finishing our UK tour, we had a few concerts and workshops in Normandy. We were also joined by Jeremy’s sister Tasha for a few days, and got to do some sightseeing. One of the highlights was going to Mont-Saint-Michel, an absurdly beautiful abbey on an island, that for hundreds of years was only accessible at low tide.

Jeremy had been there a few times, and each time had gotten in trouble for singing in the Refectory, which has incredible, resonant acoustics. This time, however, it was the off-season, and there weren’t folks there to move us along. Of course we had to sing this Stabat Mater, a setting from the Corsican village of Nebbiu. We had been teaching it a lot on tour, and talking about how it is meant to be sung in resonant stone spaces. This was our chance to actually get to sing that reality. Tasha filmed for us, and the result was…well, take a look yourself!

Thank you again for your support–it means the world to us.

In song and solidarity,

Lauren, Lynn, Jeremy, and Will
