UPDATED 3/13:
We ran into a bunch of different tech problems today, one of which meant restarting our livestream a few minutes in, so the original links below longer work. You can view the show here: https://youtu.be/poprE2b96Kk
Unfortunately, we continued to experience issues which meant that the videos we shared were often pretty jerky. The joys of technology!
We also just realized that we forgot to hit record on our Patreon Zoom hangout—so sorry about that! Our brains were such mush after the tech woes of our livestream that it totally didn’t register…
Looking forward to the time when we can go back to worrying about “normal” show problems! 🙂

WHAT ARE THESE EVENTS ALL ABOUT?
Like everyone, we have spent a lot of time this week thinking about the last few things we did one year ago before lockdowns started… For us, one year ago today (March 10) we were flying home from our UK/France tour, having enjoyed a 24 hour layover in Lisbon on the way.

Sunset over Lisbon, March 9, 2020, the night before we flew back to the US. All the stores were sold out of hand sanitizer, but that was pretty much the only visible effect of COVID at that point.
Our original schedule was that we’d arrive home on a Tuesday, take a few days of much-needed rest, and then reconvene for a weekend of concerts and a workshop in MA and NH. We were very lucky in that our international tour was not affected by COVID or the travel restrictions that went into effect just days after we returned home, but of course all our gigs for the rest of the spring were getting crossed off our calendar one by one.
One of the silver linings of having just toured together was that we were still in the same germ pod when lockdown started, so we dove headfirst into the unknown waters of livestreaming and did our first online show a year ago this weekend. And we’re so glad we did! Not only did we have an unexpected turnout (almost 800 people!), but we also discovered the joys (and distraction) of seeing the comments thread roll by as we performed. We have really come to love certain aspects of livestreaming, though we also are eager for the opportunity to sing for an audience we can see and hear again.
That first livestream is special for us in regards to our Patreon community as well, because it’s when a lot of you joined us on this platform! We started our Patreon in Oct 2019 and had about 75 people here with us going into that show, and over 100 of you became patrons during our concert. We continue to be really excited about this community and the opportunity it gives us to share more details of our lives and work than we want to put out on other social media platforms.
All this is to say, please join us on Saturday 3/13 for our Pandemic Retrospective at 2pm ET, where we’ll show videos and stories from the past year, and celebrate the things we were able to accomplish during the pandemic. It’ll be similar to the Happy Hour and Brunch events we hosted last April since we’re not podded up right now, and this event is open to the public, broadcast on Facebook and YouTube Live (links at the top of this post).
Directly following the Retrospective, our Patreon community is invited to a Zoom Hangout, where we can chat a little more in depth and actually see your faces! We may even have a special video or two to share with you. 🙂
Hope to see you there!
