This is old news to most of you, but last night, we ventured into new waters by giving a livestream concert, and really all we can say is WOW WOW WOW!!!! We didn’t really know what to expect in terms of, well… anything… but given these uncertain turbulent times, we knew that the one thing we could do was put our music out there and hope that people came to listen.
We were blown away by the response. There were over 800 people watching at times, and there have been a staggering 27,000 views at the time of writing this. As we sang, you all wrote 2,100 comments to us and to each other, and we loved seeing all that conversation happening! It’s a rare live music event that can make space for the audience to chat with each other and with the musicians, and we had so much more fun doing this than we could have imagined! Please keep sharing your stories with us!
We had hoped that a few more people would feel moved to join our Patreon family during the concert, but we never anticipated that we would more than DOUBLE our Patreon community in one night (we had about 75 patrons before the concert, and now we’ve grown to 185!). A big huge welcome to you all–we are so excited to have you as part of our Patreon family! We hope you enjoy exploring the music and goodies already here on Patreon, and we’ve got a lot more great stuff planned for you in the coming months!
In addition, over 130 people made one-time contributions. All of this support means so much to us at a time when we’re facing down a month or more of canceled gigs and so much uncertainty, and we cannot express our gratitude to you all strongly enough.
We’ve linked the concert here for anyone who missed it (or anyone who just wants to re-live those two hours): https://www.facebook.com/WindborneSingers/videos/235839744255334/
Please share this link with anyone who might need a little music in their lives right now.
We also wanted to invite those of you who use Facebook to join our two new groups, Windborne Family and Windborne Patrons-Only! We created these groups so that our fans have an easier way to connect with each other as well as stay in touch with us. We hope that folks will use them to share stories, swap songs, coordinate rides to concerts, and tell jokes, and we’ll be sharing our projects and posting announcements there as well. The Patrons-Only group is especially for you, and we’ll be sure to post some exclusive tidbits there–the first post for patrons is a video of a choir in Bristol, England who learned and performed Slave to Time for us!
With deepest gratitude,
Lauren, Jeremy, Lynn, and Will
